Christmas bliss

Hello loves,
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and Santa was good to you. Can't believe the year is 4 days from ending...

The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year. All the christmas music, the smell of baked goodies, smell of pine christmas trees, the lights on the tree, i could go on for days. This year I, had the option to have an elaborate spread with lots of people however, i decided to spend the day with my beau. Don't get it wrong. I love the feeling of being surrounded by loved ones. but due to the fact that we both had to work Boxing Day, travel was out of the question. Besides there is nothing wrong with spending time with someone special and starting your own tradition.

The beau and i opened our presents on christmas eve(opening presents on christmas morning is overrated…..Jk). I got a Dior perfume that i had been eyeing for a while and he got neat pair of shoes from Asos. He almost wore them to bed so I’m guessing he loved them too๐Ÿ˜€ These were among a few of the gifts that we exchanged.

We woke up christmas morning hoping for a white christmas, you know the kind in movies where everything is so pretty and peaceful and you sit by the crackling fire sipping on some hot cocoa, no such thing! not a single flake. Guess old man winter had other plans. Anyway it didn’t matter. The best thing about opening gifts the night before is that you don’t wake up wicked early because you’re anxious to find out whether you got a bounty or some coal. It felt good laying in bed sunlight streaming through the window flooding the room with light without a care in the world.

I have a sneaking suspicion that i might be dragging this out too much but it is how much i enjoyed it.
Well, we finally crawled out of bed albeit with much hesitation, too much to do and not enough time. We had a hearty breakfast as the plan was to skip lunch all together and have an early dinner. Got some music going…you know the christmas classics that make you warm and fuzzy on the inside, and some drinks (i don’t think it’s ever too early for some wine๐Ÿ˜Š)

The menu was simple; prime rib, some green beans and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes and green beans were a piece of cake, the prime rib however was a different case. We have had some sour luck making steak or ribs for that matter as it always ends up dry as a brick and tasting like cardboard. So you can imagine the level of anxiety trying to make a hunk of meat filled with so much promise. Seemed like a life time while we waited. The flavors emanating from the oven made our mouth water.

After hours of sweating in the kitchen (literally), the baking, mashing and frying was done, it was time to sit down and dig in. But first we had to get dolled up. We had our own little candle lit dinner to which I  wore a pretty red sweater which matched perfectly with my beaus cute bow tie.

We popped some bubbly and after toasting to good health got to the business of digging in and boy had the day spent toiling in the kitchen paid off. I’m not one to toot my own horn but damn it it was good! The end product was pure magic a gift from the gods.

Here are a few memories we captured

Old Navy Finds

Hey loves,

Hope you are all doing well. You may or may not know this but I'm quite a shopaholic. I'm pretty sure i get this from my mother no doubt...hehe mum I blame it on you...

This year I had the goal of cutting back on my shopping escapades. I think I have… the boo can attest to that. Anywho, sometime last Tuesday, after getting  groceries at Trader Joes, I stopped by Old Navy. For some reason I rarely go to this store. I would say I probably go twice a year but since it was next door I decided to make a quick stop.

While browsing I saw a few cute things I liked, some studded booties and the motif sweaters that I have had on my wish list for a long time. One of the store associates informed me of their big upcoming sale on Sunday. Now you know I left the store and set my alarm for that sunday open time hahaha i know am silly. I must say i didn't stop thinking about those pieces all week, I even had a few dreams about them( I kid...but that's how excited I was)

On Sunday, I got up early and by early i mean before my alarm had a chance to go off and was at the store at a little after 9am. They weren’t open yet…embarrassing (in my defense I'm pretty sure the website said 9am). I  Went killed time at BOB’S. bought the boo a new NY Giants sweat shirt since I ruined his with ink. Plus I was on a mission. Had to butter him up because I was about to go deep. I know most of you have done that before.
Anyway I went back to Old Navy at 10 am. I was able to find all the pieces I had spotted on Tuesday phew!! ...You know I was holding my breath the whole time I was looking for them. My final tally;  2 pairs of booties... love them! and 5 sweaters for 100$ WHAT!!!! I was excited like a kid!!

I love a deal especially being the shopaholic that I am. The sale is still going on till 11/28 at 4pm. Be sure to stop by your local Old Navy store before then. Be warned though...if we share the same local Old Navy the pickings might be slim because I tore through that store :).  here are the pics of what i scored. Can't wait to rock these pieces. Will be sure to share some outfit pics...

Love the studs on these.

What's the craziest thing you have done for a sale? Would love to hear your stories.

Xoxo

Weekend Behavior

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing great. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Still new to this blogging thing. Can you tell? lol. Working on getting better...

Anyways I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a fun packed weekend, started off on Friday with my friends  and i attending  a makeup launch party by Sandra Downie at the Hilton in Glastonbury. Sandra is an amazing esthetician and makeup artist and is the owner SANDRA Downie Beauty an amazing skin spa in Glastonbury. She launched her fabulous make up line of  HD foundations, lipsticks, lip glosses and glitter eye shadows. It was fun trying all the makeup and mingling with the other guests. You can get these products and more HERE

I was also able to snap a few pictures of my outfit before my phone died arghh don't you hate that?

On Sunday, the boo and I didn't have to work so it was nice spending time together.  We took a drive around town and ended up in Glastonbury where he took a few shots of my outfit. It was raining on and off but we managed to get a few great shots. We had lunch at a little restaurant called ANNA's on Silver lane in East Hartford. We both ordered breakfast for lunch it was so delish. All in all it was a great weekend. Did you guys do anything fun this past weekend?

The last seven months have been a learning experience for us here at Kat's Accessories. Every thing that we have learnt has lead us to our new and revamped website that we hope will provide an enjoyable experience as you shop.

Being a small company( me and my other half) means that there have been times we have been stretched thin during this rebirth period. As a result we have not interacted with you as much as we would like on social media. But we think it's for a good cause, since we believe our efforts have paid off.

The first thing you notice when you open the new website, is the new logo that features our mantra "Trendy Meets Affordable". We found it necessary to incorporate this tag line because we want you as our customer to realize that we are constantly working towards providing you with trending accessories at affordable prices!

You also notice the new design that makes browsing our fabulous accessories friendlier and sleeker. We now have bigger and more vivid pictures allowing you to view the accessories in greater detail.

The greatest change that we have made in our opinion is incorporating an SSL certificate and anti-malware protection from Norton into the website. This gives us the peace of mind that any financial information that you submit as you shop is for your eyes only.

We have also added the perfect gifting idea for your convenience. Gift certificates are now available on the website which will come in handy as we head into the holiday season.

Finally, we want you to get to know us better with the newly added About US page. Here you will get a pretty good idea of who we are and what our business is about.

We hope that you enjoy the new website as much as we did building it. Feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
